Slowly and surely, reggae music is growing all over the world. Every year, there is a new crew of reggae lovers – from Brazil to Japan to South Africa – building one of the home made soundsystems that originated in Jamaican yards, giving the original vibe an update and a new location.


Out of this world comes Irie Up magazine, covering reggae history, soundsystem culture and the best of new releases and re-issues. Irie Up is designed, written and supported by producers, musicians and artists working in the reggae business who a deep feeling for culture and mission of the music.


Every two months, Irie Up takes a look behind the reggae scene in one city, talking to promoters and supporters, starting in central Europe with Berlin and Warsaw.
We interview the artists and activists working in the production business, and we cover the news from reggae cities and towns around the world.


Reggae music is heavy, and can do the talking, so Irie Up has a light touch, guided by the positive vibration in the best of reggae – and there’s plenty of stories to put a smile on your face.
