Bartosz Wójcik

Bartosz Wójcik – a PhD student at the English Department of Maria Curie Sklodowska University (Lublin, Poland), writing a thesis on Afro-Caribbean poetry; participated in academic conferences in Poland and abroad (the Czech Republic, Romania, Scotland, Jamaica); published scholarly papers on the works of, among others, Patience Agbabi, Jean Binta Breeze, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Mutabaruka, Derek Walcott, and Michael Smith. Apart from ensconcing himself in reading rooms, he regularly spins roots reggae, ska, dub and Afrobeat records as a member of Roots Defender Sound Kolektyw – a Lublin-based Black Atlantic-centred deejay ensemble ( www.rootsdefender.pl ). be.wojcik@irieup.com.
